God has opened some amazing doors for me to walk through and I pray He opens your heart to allow me to speak with your congregation, Bible study group, or woman's convention. Being a survivor and advocate for other survivors of sexual abuse, I understand their needs and have compassion for the mixed feeling survivors have while healing from the abuse but anyone can walk away with God's lessons, He has taught me, in my life and apply it to theirs.
Church is a place of healing and I feel that more churches need to let their congregations know that they care about this over looked aspect of their lives. This has a huge impact on the overall health and mental state of your members. 25% of the woman and 1 in 33 men have or will be sexually assaulted, in their life time. This tragedy is happening at an alarming rate. Give your members an opportunity to listen to the amazing work God has done through me but I'm not an exception, I'm just one whom chose to listen to God. Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of you mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Biblically sexual immorality is a huge sin, in the Bible Matthew 18:6 & 18:7 state, "causes one of these little ones to sin" Only one of the two people involved were sinning, the other person was violently assaulted, causing the survivor to have many negative implications on various areas in their lives. Many are left with depression, confusion and a loss of control. I want to help give them the hope I have in Healing Through Jesus Christ!
Speaking to groups at churches is hugely an important part of God's will for my life. Every time I have the opportunity to speak to a group I know there is someone that needs to hear how God has helped me heal and how Jesus has shown me how to heal through His power and not my doing. I've learned how to trust the Lord completely but it was a long walk to get me where He wanted me to be.
I have many valid teachings God has blessed me with. I enjoy curtailing my speeches and music to fit into the lessons your church/small group is working on or I can have a fresh approach. Please contact me I'd love to talk with you about the prospect of me speaking and singing at your church or just sharing my testimony. God Bless.
In college students are healing from child and teen abuse, while they are also in the highest bracket to become victims of an attack. Statistics show one in four women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. You can't look at the newspaper regularly and not see all the media attention toward sexual assault, it's happening all around us, no matter where people go but in college women are four times more likely to become victims of sexual abuse. This is a social problem that affects the public health as a whole. People that become victims are forty percent more likely to have ongoing health issues.
This is a great opportunity for your college to be more involved in helping your students raise awareness to sexual abuse. This will also give students that have been victims hope, encouragement and knowledge to know where to turn for help.
There is still a stigma felt by survivors. We need to make them feel more comfortable, having a place to open up and be honest. We need to build a community where people have a reason to feel good beyond the abuse. What better place to start than the school they are attending.
I am an active advocate for sexual assault survivors, my presentations are mindful of the fact that someone listening to these presentations have been sexually assaulted. Please show your students you care by giving them an opportunity to become more aware of this epidemic at a fun and relaxed event. I mix my music, poetry, and some of my story with your schools policies, along with facts about how to prevent sexual abuse or how to seek help if one of your students has been sexually abused. Let me erase some of the inhibitions your students have. Let me empower your students with the knowledge they need.
Please contact me and I will gladly send you a copy of my event proposal or even better yet I'd love to set a meeting with you so I can personally hand you my event proposal and go over the needs of your campus.
